About the Class

The Art of Us is a parent–child process art class for ages 2–4, where the focus is on creativity and connection rather than a “perfect” product. Raising toddlers is magical… and sometimes overwhelming.

In this class, your child will explore freely with color and texture — and you’ll get to see their unique personality shine through their art. Each session also comes with a Positive Parenting tip card to inspire new, encouraging ways to connect with your little one.

You’ll leave each class with:

A joyful shared art experience

A deeper bond with your child

A Positive Parenting tip card

Why Process Art?

Process art is the perfect art form for toddlers and young kids. It is play with a purpose:

Builds creativity & problem-solving & confidence

Boosts fine motor skills

Encourages emotional expression (perfect for toddlers still finding words)

Gives parents a window into their child’s unique personality

About Me

Hello! I’m En — a CMF (Color, Material and Finish) Designer, Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and mom of two.

For 12+ years, I’ve worked as a CMF Designer, exploring how colors and materials shape emotion and experience.

At home, I love making art with my kids and watching them express themselves long before they have all the words. That joy sparked The Art of Us — where toddlers get a safe space to explore.

Positive Discipline guided me through the ups and downs of toddlerhood, giving me the confidence to parent with more calm and connection. Looking at my daughter now, at age 8, I know it truly made all the difference.

New to San Diego, I’m excited to bring families together here in Carmel Valley to start building a warm, creative community.

Connect with us

I’m not artistic. Will I know what to do?

Absolutely! This is not about making Pinterest-perfect crafts. Process art is about experimenting and connecting. We provide simple materials, ideas to get started, and lots of encouragement. Your role is to explore with your child — no art degree required.

My toddler has a short attention span. What if they don’t want to sit and do art?

That’s totally normal! Process art is open-ended — kids can paint, explore, watch, or come and go. There’s no pressure to finish a project. Even a few minutes of playful experimenting is valuable. Many parents are surprised how long toddlers end up staying engaged once they feel free to explore.

What if my child has a tantrum during class?

Tantrums happen — and this class is a safe space for that. You’ll never feel judged. In fact, part of each session includes a Positive Discipline tip to help you handle meltdowns with calm and empathy. You’ll leave with tools you can use both in class and at home.

Will my child bring home artwork?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Process art is about the experience more than the product. Some projects are messy and experimental, others result in pieces you can save. Either way, your child will leave with a sense of pride, and you’ll leave with new parenting insights.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide all materials. Just bring yourselves — and clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

How does this help me as a parent?

Each session includes a Positive Discipline insight — practical tools that reduce power struggles, encourage cooperation, and strengthen your bond with your child. You’ll walk away with an activity you enjoyed together plus a tip to make everyday parenting easier.

Is this like a parenting workshop?

Not at all — it’s first and foremost an art experience you share with your toddler. The Positive Discipline piece is woven in gently. Parents often learn more in these fun, short tips than in long lectures.

This class is for parents who want less stress, more connection, and a joyful way to nurture their child’s creativity.

How is this different from a regular art class?

In many art classes, kids follow directions to create a product that looks like the teacher’s example. With process art, there’s no right or wrong. Every child’s work is unique, and the focus is on creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression. Process art is open-ended art where the experience matters more than the finished product. Kids explore materials, colors, and textures freely — without step-by-step instructions or pressure to “make it look a certain way.” Which is the perfect form for toddlers and preschoolers.

What's your refund policy?
  • Single classes and trial classes are non-refundable. If you can’t make it, let me know 48 hours in advance and I’ll try to fit you into another session if space allows.

  • Class packs (4 or 8 sessions): You may request a refund before the first class begins (minus a small processing fee). After classes start, no refunds are offered — but you’re welcome to make up missed classes, subject to availability.

  • If I ever need to cancel a class (for illness, weather, etc.), you’ll receive either a reschedule or a credit/refund for that session.
